The Freenet Project is very pleased to announce the release of Freenet 0.7.0.

Freenet is software designed to allow the free exchange of information over the Internet without fear of censorship, or reprisal. To achieve this Freenet makes it very difficult for adversaries to reveal the identity, either of the person publishing, or downloading content. The Freenet project started in 1999, released Freenet 0.1 in March 2000, and has been under active development ever since.

Freenet is unique in that it handles the storage of content, meaning that if necessary users can upload content to Freenet and then disconnect. We've discovered that this is a key requirement for many Freenet users. Once uploaded, content is mirrored and moved around the Freenet network, making it very difficult to trace, or to destroy. Content will remain in Freenet for as long as people are retrieving it, although Freenet makes no guarantee that content will be stored indefinitely.

The journey towards Freenet 0.7 began in 2005 with the realization that some of Freenet's most vulnerable users needed to hide the fact that they were using Freenet, not just what they were doing with it. The result of this realization was a ground-up redesign and rewrite of Freenet, adding a “darknet” capability, allowing users to limit who their Freenet software would communicate with to trusted friends. This would make it far more difficult for a third-party to determine who is using Freenet.

Freenet 0.7 also embodies significant improvements to almost every other aspect of Freenet, including efficiency, security, and usability. Freenet is available for Windows, GNU/Linux, and OSX. It can be downloaded from: http://freenetproject.org/download.html.

Revengeâdriven punitive measures like prisons do not and cannot work. Not only that but the produce results contrary to what they intend to produce, they cause people to increase the level of an anti-social act. This podcast is a criticism and not a search for alternatives, if you want that, you will need to look at Anti-social acts episode, i will also do another one on the related topic of organising to stop anti-social acts.

Please note that this podcast is not meant to demean or oppose people who support survivors of the crimes or the survivors and victims of the crimes themselves. I discuss this topic in hope of helping the society to end anti-social behaviour (or at least minimise it), even though i realise that it might label me as being âsoft on criminalsâ?.

60 - How to make a podcast

This is a podcast about podcasting. It has been developing in my head and computer for some time, and here it is. It is done in conjunction with writing a page for Anarchopedia on how to make a podcast.

As you know i am not a âprofessional podcasterâ?, so i am only able to tell you how i do stuff. So if you know more than me, donÊt laugh at meâ too much. I wish that me doing this show, will encourage at least one more radical to begin podcasting.

P.S. The embarassing thing for me is the fact that i was unable to remove all the screeching sound from this episode for some reason.

This is a different type of the episode, it is not really about politics but more about counseling radicals (including myself). We all feel burnt out at times, we all feel like what we do doesn't matter. COINTELPRO and other government programmes can be blamed for some of that, while idiocy needs to be blamed for the restâ I only discuss what we individually can do to counter the negative effects of this form of alienation.

So no matter what you do, keep the struggle going.

56 - Child Abuse in the Global North

This is an incredibly important today, i believe that the protectionist culture has hijacked the movement to oppose the child abuse. In here i will talk about the programme that i propose which will eliminate many different forms child abuse. The basic outline of this programme is the following:

Elimination of age from the exemption from the minimal wage.
Introduction of industrial education in the education system which teaches safe working experience.
Support of sexual education in the education system which teaches safe sexual practices.
Lowering and eventual elimination of the age of majority, age of consent, and other age limitations which might exist in the particular legislation.
Child custody must be replaced by parental responsibility.
Children must be allowed to explore the world under their own terms, this includes travel, choice of reading literature, choice of participatory events and individual actions, choice of religion or lack there-of, choice of spirituality or lack there-of, and other things which are deemed important by the children.
Child must have a way to express one's sexuality, gender identity, and other forms of identity in the way that is consistent with that child's desires; as long as those desires do not interfere with lives of others.
Children must not be used as pawns by their guardians, teachers, or other adults to achieve the goals those adults see important without an informed consent from the children.
Where possible without the threat to child's health, the child must be informed prior to any medical procedure in order to make an informed decision about one's treatment.
Ageism must be recognised as a form of discrimination against people of a particular age group.
Ableism must be recognised to include the discrimination against the people too young or too old to perform a certain task just as it already includes people with the physical or mental handicaps.

This was only an outline, i explain what i mean by these things in the podcast, so please listen to it prior to commenting. I do wish that you would comment on what i'm saying here.

This is an incredibly creative podcast consisting of the host (and possibly others, Iâm not sure, because someone speaks in Russian also) giving us regular âEpisodesâ? and then in between those, several âpoemsâ?. The poems are the very creative part and range dramatically in topic and length (and language). The Episodes are basically philosophy and politics and news topics from a self-describe anarchist point of view, but what I would describe as European liberal. I mean European liberal because it has a slight edge of âyou Americans are different than all of the rest of usâ? (and not in a good way) but itâs mostly subtle. I have found Europeans think of Americans this way, but I look forward to hearing more of his opinions not just on world events, politics, family, philosophy, etc., but also of how we Americans appear to the rest of the world. Itâs just something he mentions in Episode 50 so itâs not pervasive throughout the podcast.

Many of the episodes are personal thoughts on various things and these âpoemsâ? are creative and hard to describe. Because they are short I recommend you listen to a lot of them. Check out the podcast on libsyn or through the iTunes link. I may very well add to this review as I listen to a few more of the longer Episodes. Iâm not sure if this is the logo for the show either, but itâs what I could find. Please correct me if Iâm wrong VolodyA_V_A! I will have more to say on this one in the podcast. I definitely recommend you listen to it for a different point of view that isnât usual American politics.

Here i've decided to shortly talk about nudity and how nudism and generally a healthy attitude towards one's body will benefit the anarchist movement. This is also a “videocast” and i have made a point to do it in the nude; so if you have hard time looking at nude people i suggest that you watch this episode with your eyes closed. Also note that this is a rather short episode, due to the fact that video generates a much larger file sizes.

I am discussing the idea of Buddhism and anarchism being allies. This is not a complete description of both, but simply an outline of what jumps out and screams “symmetry“.

Although this podcast was recorded with anarchists who are interested in Buddhism being in mind, i feel it will be equally interesting to Buddhists who wish to have a look at anarchism without the shores of social conditioning.
